As of October 2026, a regular TikTok Shop order in the US must be scanned In Transit by a carrier within 2 business days of reaching Awaiting Shipment, carry valid tracking, and be delivered within 6 business days, weekends and US federal holidays excluded, under TikTok Shop's Fulfillment Policy. The same policy sets four shop metrics: Late Dispatch Rate at or under 4%, On-Time Delivery Rate at or above 80%, Valid Tracking Rate at or above 95%, and Seller-Fault Cancellation Rate at or under 2.5%. A US 3PL can pick, pack and ship those orders if you keep ownership of the inventory, per TikTok Shop's order fulfillment guidance, and Fulfilled by TikTok can run alongside it from the same stock.
The three ways to ship, and where Seller Shipping stands
TikTok Shop's US logistics overview, checked October 2026, lists three options. Seller Shipping: you ship from your own or a third-party warehouse with supported carriers and upload tracking yourself. TikTok Shipping: you ship from your own or a third-party warehouse on labels TikTok Shop provides, for US domestic warehouses only, per the TikTok Shipping page; Collection by TikTok (CBT) is its pickup add-on, per the shipping options page. Fulfilled by TikTok: TikTok Shop's own warehouses store, pack and ship. New US sellers default to TikTok Shipping, per the setup page.
Early in 2026 there were reports that Seller Shipping would end for US sellers, then that the plan was paused. As of October 2026 no official page we opened carries an end date. The overview says eligibility remains unchanged and that you may use Seller Shipping if you are currently eligible; the newer shipping options page says it may only be available to select sellers and tells you to confirm in Seller Center. Confirmed: a shop that has Seller Shipping keeps it until Seller Center says otherwise, and a new shop should expect TikTok Shipping. Pending: any end date.
Dispatch: two business days to a carrier scan, not to a label
The dispatch rule is about the carrier's scan. Under the Fulfillment Policy a regular order must be marked In Transit within 2 business days of entering Awaiting Shipment, and it reaches In Transit when the carrier scans it. The order fulfillment guidance puts the cutoff at 11:59 PM Pacific on the second business day. If no tracking is added within 5 business days, the order is auto-cancelled.
Handling time lives in Fulfillment Settings: 1 to 2 business days at the shop level for regular orders, with backorder, custom-handling and made-to-order products on their own ranges and a window of that handling time plus 1 business day. The Seller Shipping page says confirm, pick, pack and tracking upload all happen inside the handling time you set. Two tools buy time honestly: the Order Handling Capacity tool adds 1 business day on orders above the daily capacity you set, per the order fulfillment guidance, and Holiday Mode sets a warehouse's stock to zero for a period, per the US warehouse management page.
Late Dispatch Rate: the formula, the thresholds, and the June 2026 question
The Late Dispatch Rate page, checked October 2026, defines LDR as non-FBT orders dispatched after the SLA divided by the orders that should have dispatched within it, and works an example: 25 late out of 200 due is 12.5%. The Fulfillment Policy recommends 4% or lower. Above 10%, enforcement can follow: Account Health Rating point deductions, order volume limits, extended settlement periods. Each enforcement can be appealed twice, within 30 days and then within 15 days of a rejection.
Three things catch sellers. A label without a carrier scan inside the window is late: the LDR FAQ says dispatch responsibility does not end at hand-off. TikTok Shipping orders count; only FBT orders are exempt. And a carrier that collects late is your late dispatch unless you appeal with the carrier's own document acknowledging the delay, per the LDR page.
You may have read that the formula changed on 15 June 2026 to add orders still unshipped past the SLA. That update is on TikTok Shop's Philippines seller page, applies to the Philippines, and was enforced from July 2026. As of October 2026 the US page does not carry it, and the US FAQ already counts an unscanned order past the SLA as late. The June 2026 change confirmed for the US is to On-Time Delivery Rate, below. One wrinkle: the LDR page's denominator includes FBT orders, while the shipping options page counts non-FBT orders only. The numerator, orders that missed the window, is the same.
Delivery, tracking and cancellations: the other three metrics
On-Time Delivery Rate. A regular order must be marked Delivered within 6 business days of Awaiting Shipment, and the OTDR page calls 80% a hard requirement. Since June 2026, on Upgraded TikTok Shipping and CBT orders a late delivery counts only if the dispatch was late, which the June 2026 policy update confirms is in effect. Seller Shipping orders are still judged on the deliver-by date. FBT orders always count as on time.
Valid Tracking Rate. The VTR page requires 95% or higher, counts a number as valid only once it has at least two carrier scans, and looks at packages marked shipped in the previous 14 to 21 days. It is not evaluated for TikTok Shipping or FBT. On Seller Shipping the tracking ID, carrier and service you upload must match the label, with one self-service correction, per the customer order shipping requirements.
Seller-Fault Cancellation Rate must stay at or under 2.5% under the Fulfillment Policy, and stockouts are the cancellations that hurt here, so live inventory by SKU from the floor to Seller Center is a metric input. One more rule from the August 2026 update: from 5 August 2026, returns must go to an address you own or are authorized to use and that is affiliated with your business; residential or unverified addresses are an enforcement issue. The pages do not name 3PLs either way. List the warehouse that actually receives your returns in Return Warehouse settings, where the setup page says the address is checked against USPS.
The rules in one table, with the operational answer
| Rule | What TikTok Shop requires | What your 3PL has to do |
|---|---|---|
| Dispatch | Carrier scan (In Transit) within 2 business days of Awaiting Shipment; cutoff 11:59 PM Pacific | Pick and pack the day the order lands. Daily carrier pickups, so the scan happens the day the parcel is packed. |
| Auto-cancellation | Tracking added within 5 business days, or the order is cancelled | Tracking syncs back through the integration when the label prints, never by hand. |
| Handling time | Shop default 1 to 2 business days; backorder, custom and made-to-order ranges plus 1 business day | Set it to what the floor will do. Turn on the Order Handling Capacity tool before a creator spike. |
| Late Dispatch Rate | 4% or lower recommended; enforcement above 10%; TikTok Shipping counts, FBT does not | Orders landed and orders scanned, by day, on the dashboard. Appeal carrier delays with the carrier's notice. |
| On-Time Delivery Rate | 80% or higher; Delivered within 6 business days; since June 2026, Upgraded TikTok Shipping and CBT orders are late only if dispatched late | A floor that reaches your customers by ground inside the window, and on-time dispatch so the June 2026 rule applies. |
| Valid Tracking Rate | 95% or higher on Seller Shipping; valid means two carrier scans; tracking ID matches the label | Tracking number, carrier and service taken from the label itself, never retyped. |
| Seller-Fault Cancellation Rate | 2.5% or lower | Live inventory by SKU synced to Seller Center, so the shop never sells a unit the shelf does not have. |
| Pickup and return warehouse | Set in Seller Center, checked against USPS; from 5 August 2026 returns go only to an address you own or are authorized to use | The 3PL dock is both warehouses, and returns are graded and restocked on the same floor. |
| Where the warehouse is | Seller Shipping and TikTok Shipping are US domestic only; no international third-party suppliers or consolidation | A US warehouse, with the inventory still owned by you. |
Fulfilled by TikTok, and replenishing it from a 3PL
Fulfilled by TikTok is TikTok Shop's own warehouse network. On the FBT page, checked October 2026, you send inventory in, TikTok Shop stores, packs and ships, eligible products get a Free 3-Day Delivery tag, and each inbound shipment gets 60 days of free storage. FBT orders are exempt from the packaging rules, VTR, OTDR and late-dispatch counting. The logistics overview says FBT now supports most sellers, and since September 2026 TikTok Shop manages returns on FBT orders itself, per the September 2026 update.
Getting stock in is the work. The inbound request process, checked October 2026, runs on one inbound request per shipment, labels printed from the FBT system, and an arrival date you commit to:
- At least 10 units of each product, and only products whose barcode is matched in the FBT portal.
- One linear barcode per item, matched one to one to the listing SKU. No QR codes.
- Two carton labels on adjacent sides of every carton, four labels on every pallet, printed from the FBT system.
- Pallets no bigger than 48 by 40 by 72 inches with the pallet, no heavier than 1,500 lb, never double stacked, never shared between shops.
- Cartons no longer than 66 cm on the longest side and no heavier than 23 kg; avoid mixed cartons.
- Freight appointments at least 4 business days ahead and within seven days of the arrival date you entered; small-parcel inbounds capped at 100 cartons.
- Exact allocated quantities on a Direct to FC request; shortages, overages and misroutes carry a routing non-compliance fee. A request with nothing received after 75 days closes on its own.
For a brand that also sells on Shopify or Amazon, the pattern is one pool of stock at the 3PL and FBT inbounds built from it: the 3PL holds the bulk, ships the DTC and marketplace orders, and builds a labeled, palletized inbound when FBT runs low. Mind the unit limits on the FBT rate card page: nothing over 150 lb or 108 inches on a side, and hub inbounds capped at 50 lb and 26 inches per side. It is the same sequence as an FBA replenishment, with TikTok Shop's labels and appointment rules.
TikTok Shop orders on our floor
TikTok Shop connects natively to our WMS, so orders ship from Elmwood Park on the same 12pm ET cutoff as every other channel, with tracking posted back to TikTok Shop. Orders in by 12pm ET ship the same business day, and every major carrier picks up daily, which is where the acceptance scan comes from. Later orders ship within one business day, two to three in peak. Tell us your TikTok Shop share, campaign dates and expected volume in the intake and we plan labor around them; the peak season plan has the timeline, and the TikTok Shop fulfillment page has the setup.
Your Shopify, Amazon and TikTok Shop orders draw on one inventory pool, and Fulfilled by TikTok replenishment ships from the same stock. Every unit is scan-verified against the order before it goes in the box, which is how pick and pack error stays under 0.3% across 1.2M+ orders a year. Returns come back to the same floor, an estimated $3.00 per parcel, received, graded and restocked or set aside per your policy. Relabeling stock for an FBT inbound is special-project labor, an estimated $35 per hour, only when you ask for it. The TikTok Shop connection, the ShipStation WMS and the live dashboard are included, there is no setup fee, postage is billed semi-monthly per shipment, and there are no seasonal or peak surcharges on handling or storage. The rate card has every line.
Where the floor is matters for the deliver-by window. Elmwood Park is about 15 miles from Manhattan; ground reaches New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New England and the DC area in 1 to 2 business days and the rest of the country in about 5. Read that against the 6 business day deliver-by window. When a creator video spikes orders, the floor has done it: Nominal's last-minute sale put 10,000+ orders on the floor in one weekend, every one shipped within SLA. Moving TikTok Shop orders from another 3PL follows how to switch 3PLs; Found was shipping in one weekend, and most brands are live in under two weeks.
Before you move TikTok Shop orders to a 3PL
- 01Confirm your shipping option under Shipping Options in Seller Center. It decides who prints the label and who uploads tracking, so the 3PL maps the right flow before the first order.
- 02Set the 3PL dock as your pickup warehouse and your return warehouse. With more than one warehouse, map every SKU to each warehouse it can ship from, because TikTok Shop assigns the warehouse per order on proximity and stock, per the US warehouse management page.
- 03Set handling time to what the floor will actually do, and give the Order Handling Capacity tool a real daily number before a campaign.
- 04Send the 3PL your SKU list with barcodes, dimensions and weights, and mark which SKUs are in FBT, so one pool of stock feeds both.
- 05Run test orders while your current setup is live: order in, tracking back, carrier scan inside 2 business days, stock moving on both sides. Then cut over on a quiet day and watch orders landed, orders scanned and stock by SKU for the first week.
Questions sellers ask next
Can a 3PL ship my TikTok Shop orders?
Yes. TikTok Shop's own guidance allows a third-party fulfillment provider to pack and ship as long as you keep ownership of the inventory, and the warehouse has to be in the US, since Seller Shipping and TikTok Shipping are domestic only. The 3PL dock becomes your pickup and return warehouse in Seller Center.
Does a slow carrier pickup count as my late dispatch?
Yes, unless you appeal. An order is late if it is not scanned In Transit within 2 business days, whoever caused it, and appeals need the carrier's own document acknowledging the delay. Since June 2026 a slow delivery after an on-time dispatch no longer hurts OTDR on Upgraded TikTok Shipping and CBT orders.
Is Seller Shipping going away?
Not on any official page we opened in October 2026. TikTok Shop says eligibility is unchanged for shops that have it, that it may be limited to select sellers, and that new US sellers default to TikTok Shipping. Treat any end date as pending until it appears in Seller Center.
Can I run Fulfilled by TikTok and a 3PL at the same time?
Yes. The 3PL holds the bulk stock, ships your Shopify, Amazon and TikTok Shop orders from one pool, and builds labeled, palletized FBT inbounds from it when FBT runs low. FBT orders are exempt from LDR, OTDR and VTR; everything the 3PL ships is measured.
