How FBA replenishment reaches the floor.
Your inventory is already here. It was received once, scanned to stock, and counted into the same pool that ships your Shopify, Amazon FBM, and TikTok Shop orders. When Amazon stock runs low, you create the shipment in Seller Central and send us the plan. We pull the units from the pool and build the shipment to Amazon’s current inbound requirements.
Amazon changes its inbound requirements. We build to the current ones, not last year’s, and we check the shipment before it ships rather than after Amazon flags it.
- FNSKU labels applied to every unit that needs one.
- Bundles built and labeled as the single ASIN they sell as.
- Cartons packed to the shipment plan and labeled with the carton labels.
- Pallets built, wrapped, and labeled when the shipment moves by pallet.
- Every shipment checked against Amazon’s current requirements before the pallet leaves the dock.
FBM orders ship on the 12pm ET cutoff. Prep ships on your plan.
Amazon connects natively to ShipStation. Merchant-fulfilled orders ship from Elmwood Park on the same cutoff as your Shopify orders: in by 12pm ET, shipped the same business day. Later orders ship within one business day, two to three in peak. Tracking syncs back to Amazon.
FBA shipments run on a different clock. There is no noon cutoff on a pallet. We schedule prep against your shipment plan and the carrier pickup, and we tell you when the shipment is built and when it leaves.
From Elmwood Park, ground reaches New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New England, and the DC area in one to two days. Where the pallet goes is set by Amazon’s shipment plan. Where your FBM parcels go is one to two days across the Northeast and about five coast to coast.
FBA or a 3PL? Most brands run both.
FBA holds the stock you send to Amazon and ships the Amazon orders it holds stock for. A 3PL holds everything else and ships every channel from it. These are not competing choices. Most brands run both.
The split usually looks like this. FBA carries the Amazon listing. The 3PL carries the Shopify store, TikTok Shop, and merchant-fulfilled Amazon orders, holds the bulk of the inventory, and builds the FBA shipments when Amazon runs low. The 3PL is where kitting, inserts, and returns happen, and where the full catalog lives in one count.
Running both from one pool means the stock is never stranded. If Amazon stock runs out before the next shipment lands, you can switch the listing to merchant-fulfilled and the orders ship from Elmwood Park on the same cutoff. If a SKU slows on Amazon, the units you have not sent yet are still here to sell on Shopify or TikTok Shop.
A sale, a stockout, a spike. Here is what happens to the SLA.
Amazon brands see two kinds of spike. The one you cause: a sale or a launch that pulls orders onto your Shopify store and your FBM listings at once. And the one Amazon causes: FBA stock runs out and merchant-fulfilled orders start landing on the floor with no warning.
Nominal, a jewelry brand we ship for, called a last-minute warehouse sale. It put more than 10,000 orders on the floor in one weekend. Every order shipped within SLA, with no surcharge on handling or storage. The people who ran that weekend run our own brands through peak too, and they are the people who pack your orders.
If you know a sale is coming, tell us the date and the expected volume and we plan labor around it. If a stockout at Amazon sends FBM orders our way, they are in the same queue on the same cutoff. There are no seasonal or peak surcharges on handling or storage.
One pool: DTC orders and FBA shipments from the same stock.
Every unit is received once, scanned to stock once, and counted in one place. Shopify, Amazon FBM, and TikTok Shop orders draw from that pool every day. FBA shipments draw from the same pool when you create them. You do not hold a separate FBA stock, ship it twice, or reconcile two counts.
Receiving is scan-to-stock, picks are scan-verified, and cycle counts reconcile the floor to the system. The number on the dashboard is the number on the shelf, whether the next unit is going into a customer parcel or onto a pallet for Amazon. Pick and pack error runs under 0.3%.
You see the pool live, by SKU, with sell-through and reorder triggers, on the same dashboard we run our own brands on. The same view tells you when it is time to build the next FBA shipment.
What FBA prep costs.
FBA prep is priced in your quote from your SKU list and your shipment plan, as labeling, bundling, and carton or pallet work, and confirmed in the proposal.
The rest of the rate card is the one every brand on the floor gets. As an estimate: handling $3.00 per order for Shopify, Amazon FBM, and TikTok Shop orders, pick, pack, and ship all in. Storage $0.65 per cubic foot per month, billed on the space you use, whether the units are waiting for a customer or for a shipment plan. Returns $3.00 per parcel. Postage on parcels is billed semi-monthly per shipment. The Amazon connection, the ShipStation WMS, and the live dashboard are included.
There are no seasonal or peak surcharges on handling or storage. Your exact rates depend on your products, volume, and shipping profile, and are confirmed in your quote.
FBA prep questions
How is FBA prep priced?
